How does the narrator respond to the monk's preference for hunting and riding over studying or working?

In the canterbury tales, Chaucer that is also the narrator talks about the monk with disrespect and sarcasm as he has a low opinion of the monk. we can see this when he says: "He yaf nought of that text a pulled hen" or " "Of priking and of hunting for the hare was al his lust, for no cost wolde he spare"
