First, Yosa Buson is described as a lonely person

The next emotional journey that he felt is 'scared', When he heard unknown sound of Tapping from his Veranda

The Next one is Anger, when he realized that the sound was made by a Badger and he wanted to capture it

The next one is weary, after he tried to capture it for 5 consecutive nights and fail and decided that he can't live there anymore

The next one is sad, because after a hunter in the village kill the badger, he can't no longer hear the usual sound and he became lonely and unoccupied again

The haiku he writes afterwards captures his hopefulness because he really hope that the badger that died became a Budha
