What is 307,495 rounded to the nearest thousand?

Wouldn't the answer be 310,000 because zero is in the thousandth place

    It would be 307,000 because it's less than 307,500 ... in that case it would round to 308,000. As a child i remember the saying '5 or more let it soar, 4 or less let it rest. I hope im not confusing you anyways the final answer is:307,000
