In "Tiger - Tiger!" why does Mowgli cover his face when the villagers tell stories about the jungle? A.     The answer is D. He is being polite and trying to keep them from seeing him laughing at their foolishness. Mowgli tries not to show them he is laughing, as he obviously can see that they don't really know what they are talking about.
