What's a conjunctive verb

A conjunctive verb is a grammar term. The structure of a sentence in the English language contains various nuances and complex definitions, often difficult even for native speakers to understand. One of the more confusing parts of the language is what is referred to as a conjunctive verb.

A conjunctive verb is another term for a linking verb, which is used to link two parts of a sentence. Examples of such verbs are: to be, to appear, to become, etc.

For example: I am a waitress. - here 'am' is used as a linking/conjunctive verb to link the subject 'I' with the remainder of the sentence, the predicate nominative 'a waitress'.
