The correct option is C.

Plate tectonic serves as the unifying theory of geology; it is the framework into which all other explanation of geological phenomenal are fitted. Phenomenon such as earthquake, Tsunami, volcanoes, ocean basins and continents are well explained by this theory. The Plate tectonic theory also explains how lithospheric plates move.
