    I am pretty sure that the sentence which should use semicolons in order to separate items in the list for clarity is the first sentence from the scale represeted above:

    The little boy wanted a shiny, red ball, a huge Transformer truck, and a tall, professional size basketball goal for Christmas. As you can see there are a lot of commas used for characteristic and in this case it should be replaced with semicolons is some places.
