The part my friend played in the crime and the level of the crime determines the kind of advice I give him. If he is just an innocent victim who was caught in the middle of a serious offence, the best option is for him to remain silent. Most of the major criminals who commit crimes then realize that there was a witness to the offence will not rest until they find and kill the witness. If it is just simple, well-known thieves, I would advise my friend to make it public or else the thieves would continue tormenting them for life. In all circumstances and in whichever the crime, I would advise my friend to think critically before making decisions and never to argue with his conscience.
