The work of Mary Wollstonecraft published in 1972 Vindication of the Rights of Woman: with strictures on Political and Moral Subjects contrasts the logic and reasoning with the right of women to education and contribute to society. By the time these were considered rational, abstract, sentimental beings and with little ability to learn beings; Wollstonecraft rejects this thesis defining women with the capacity for analysis and intelligence.

The author claimed that society would progress if women received education since they were responsible for raising children and should be prepared with knowledge for this task.

However in her writings she makes it clear that a man will always be smarter than women even though both are equal human beings and that ignorance is submerged in them, they will always need the guidance of a man.

She criticizes the excessive sentimentality of women and describes them as ignorant slaves but also as capricious tyrants than can manipulate men.
