Why did Benjamin Franklin not go to college?

He did not enjoy reading or studying of any kind.

His mother believed he would be happier working at a trade.

His father was poor and could not afford it.

His brothers were better at school than he was.

    Benjamin Franklin's father enrolled him in public schools which focused on ministry, then to writing and arithmetic when his father thought he will not excel in that field. When he was 10, he was forced to quit schooling because of poor finances and substituted his father's post in their candle-making business.
