The answer is letter d (Puritans). The puritans were a group of reformist Protestants who came about during the 16th and 17th Century. They were called Puritans because they wanted to remove Roman Catholic practices and customs from the Church of England. They came in after the Ascension of Elizabeth I. However they had more in common with Calvinists rather than with the Church of England. They were not barred from implementing their reforms on the Church. Puritans were divided into two groups. The first group remained with the Church of England while other was in favor of completely severing ties with the Church.
