Which of the following is an indirect quotation?

"We can go in the pool now," she said.

"Boys, can you rake the leaves, too?" Mr. Thompkins asked.

She told me, "you don't know what you're talking about."

He said to put the blankets in the linen closet, so that's what I'm doing.

He said to put the blankets in the linen closet, so that's what I'm doing.

An indirect quotation is when the meaning is there, but not the exact words.

    It's like ...

She said, "go to your room right now."

That would be a direct quote, but an indirect quote would be:

She told me to go to my room.

The meaning is the same, but the little quotation marks aren't there. Indirect means that it's not straight from the source.
