Which clause is independent?

    The answer is C, because for a clause to be independent, it needs to be able to stand by itself as a sentence, so it needs a subject and a predicate and make sense. answer D is incorrect because it does not make sense as a full sentence. To be a full sentence it must tell what you do, when you put them away in the closet.
