What is a complete sentence?

B. He could not wait long.

C. Three active boys playing on the field.

D. The sad end of a long movie.

    B makes the most sense to me, because it is a complete thought, or a simple sentence. While C keeps you wondering what the boys are playing on the field, so it is not a complete thought. And A and D are just incomplete thoughts like C. And you have to have a complete thought to have the sentence truly be a sentence.
