Sculptures are the usual form of ancient artworks in Africa. They used wood, iron, clay, bronze, ivory, and textiles as materials to make their work. Most of the sculptures are heavily oriented with exaggerated body features. The heads are often exaggerated because they are thought to be the center of character and emotion therefore paving the way for a person’s overall fate and success. Other features that are often exaggerated are the stomachs, hands and feet, and navels that are protruded.
