Why does the family decide to sleep in the sitting room? In War time Diaries: Anne Frank and Zlata Filipovic

I am assuming here that the question is referring specifically to Zlata's Diary - and this was because the room she used to sleep in before, her bedroom, was facing the hills on which the soldiers were and it could happen that a bullet would come from that direction - the living room/sitting room was safer.
