    Well, according to the the dictionary entry it is pretty clear to recognize the right sentence. I am absolutely sure that the correct answer is the sentence from the last option - ''The haunting refrain stayed with the audience long after the show ended.'' Leading by common grammar rules and depending on the context of course, this statement is the only one that really makes sense and uses refrain as a noun in a proper way.
