The tone that Poe's use of "seduced" illicit in this excerpt from "The Black Cat" is passing blame.

You can see in the excerpt that he blames this "beast" to have seduced him into committing a murder, into killing another person and that it is responsible for him having to go to jail now. He never mentions that he is the one to blame for what he has done, but rather places all the blame to this "creature."
