Proofreading vs revising

    Proofreading is checking to see whether or not everything written is correctly grammatically, making minor changes in spelling, punctuation, etc.

    Revising is changing the "subject" or characters, the general idea or something dealing with it. It changes the written work in a greater fashion, changing basically the idea.
