Prometheus gave humans the gift of fire. Zeus then punishes him for his crime by having his liver eaten by eagles. Every day his liver would grow back and then be eaten again.

The answer is A, Prometheus gave mortals the gift of fire. Zeus had said that mortals should not have fire, but Prometheus, favoring man over the gods, went against this. Zeus eventually found out about this, however, and had Prometheus chained to a rock in the Caucasus Mountains. Not only that, but he was torn at relentlessly by a giant eagle. Zeus was rather cruel when it came to punishments, I must say.
