Which sentence uses the negative connotation of the word cheap? he always comes up with some cheap excuse to miss gym class. we liked going to the downtown pizza joint because it was pretty cheap. although the material was cheap, it was of surprisingly good quality. i would recommend traveling by bus because it's quite cheap.

    The first one. All of the other examples are talking about things price-wise, whereas a cheap excuse is a very bad excuse.
