High school graduate should be required to take off time before entering college how can this thesis statement be improved

Well I actually thought it was an option for students to make up their own mind on when they want to go to college. Some students receive scholarship of a subject they passed with high Honor's, so they probably go away to college right away. Some students have good paying jobs so they don't want to go off to college right away.
