Describe the character of the professor in saboteur. five at least three details from the story to support your description

Mr. Chiu, the professor, can be described as a prideful man. During the incident of the tea getting thrown at their feet by policemen, he could've prevented getting thrown at jail had he only kept calm and realize that it's a bait for him to be imprisoned. Instead, he make unnecessary scene and confrontation leading to his capture.

He also wouldn't accept the offer that he needs to apologize and admit to his wrongdoing (even if it's mainly the policemen's fault) so that he may be set free. He was focused on proving his innocence and even if his medical condition had worsen and in need of immediate treatment, his pride wouldn't falter.

Then, when he was free at last, he set on having revenge on the people who wronged him. Instead of moving on with his life, he purposely and carelessly allow his illness to be contracted to a lot of people including innocents. Although he was unfairly treated, his pride is the root of his life's catastrophe.
