Like other wars, many different factors converged to cause the events of 'world war one' and 'world war two'. Causes for wars tend to be similar economically, and psychologically. I mean that without some sort of perceived economical gain, and a psycho-logical ability to overcome neurological tendency to avoid danger, war cannot happen.

It is essential that at least one of the participants in the war expect gain from it and will believe it to be worth the risk of destruction.

In 'world war 1' and 'world war 2', leaders in countries in Europe and USA (and other parts of the world) were expecting to expand their influence to more territories, and responded to other leaders' actions.
