    C. Man vs. Nature

There are many examples of Man vs. Self in this novel, so that could be a correct answer. But read the question carefully. It's asking which conflict the main character is facing whilst learning to survive in a new environment he's unsure of, thus making it C. Man vs. Nature

C: man vs. Nature and D: man vs. self these are the answers because he must learn to survive on his own in the wilderness which is nature, and he has issues with himself. since you have most likely already read the book, you know that he tried to kill himself and that he had no experience surviving in the wilderness so that is man vs. self. there are no people with him so it isn't man vs. man, there are no cities or large groups of people so it isn't man vs. society.
