Punnett Squares. Say a mother and a father were having a child. The mother had blue eyes (bb), a recessive trait, and the father had brown a dominant trait. If the father had heterozygous Dominant genes (Bb), then what is the probability that the child would have blue eyes?

    B b

    b|Bb | bb|

    b|Bb | bb|

This is a rudimental punnett square, which shows all of the possible traits that the kid would have. So the probability that the offspring would have blue eyes is 2/4, or 1/2. That is how heredity relates to probability.
