The preoperational period is a good time to begin formal numeral writing lessons.

    The second stage of Piaget's theory of cognitive development is called "the preoperational period." This is the stage between the age two until seven. In this stage, the child is pre or before operational. Which means the child can't still use logic. So this stage is not a good time to begin formal numeral writing lessons.
