Cyclops was irritated with Odysseus because he tricked by him. Odysseus made him blind. Odysseus did not said sorry even if the Cyclops offered to provide him a good treatment. The gods have power over men that is why Cyclops asked his father Poseidon to interfere with Odysseus' journey home as a revenge.
