The answer is letter C. The speaker’s grave. It is odd that in a story you will find the capitalization of non - proper object which in this case is the House. She considered the House as her home where she actually grew up in. The House is now in bad condition and is sunken in the ground. It is also dilapidated now. It is compared to her, ready to be buried and have something take its place. Metaphorically, the House is also her grave. For the rest of her existence, she will be spending there but her soul moves on thus emphasis on the pause is evident.
