Which mode uses a fast shutter speed to freeze the action?

The shutter speed should adjust depending on the motion of your subject. 1/100th second shutter speed can freeze a slow motion like someone waving a hand. But if it is a fast motion like spiking a ball in a volleyball match, you can freeze the motion in 1/1000th second.
