Some people called Nathan Bostick, the newest member of our school faculty, a genius on the guitar. He invited his students to visit his ranch to have lunch on Saturday. They had fun while they had a science lesson. As they sat on the patio and studied Mr. Bostick's tomato plants, they learned how to make salsa with the fruit. After a guitar concert, everyone felt lazy and wanted a siesta. On the way home the students said this was as much a fiesta as a lesson.

Based on the Latin word facere, which mean "make do," the word faculty from this passage means:

a license or authorization

an inherent mental or physical power.

an aptitude or talent for doing something.
