What explanation does smith give for the loss of men and his own capture? why does he include these explanations?

    John Smith argues that the voyage was longer than what they expected, men were tired and theyr arrived to an unknown land. What is more, they did not have enough food, they did not have proper shelter so men started to get sick and die.
