Journal entryNovember 11, 1620What a terrible journey! It has been quite a long time for us so I am thrilled to have finally arrived to Cape Cod. I could not possible describe fully how I reacted when we arrive, I was “half amazed” at the people conditions. It was all “a hideous and desolate wilderness, full of wild beasts and wild men,” with “savage barbarians,” who were “readier to fill” the sides of the Pilgrims “full of arrows than otherwise.” It took me by surprise because I certainly not waited for this outcome.

It is just intriguing how our lives are going to be developed here, I think it is a matter of time until we find out. For the present moment, I feel quite unhappy and surprised
