    Monoculture means that all of a certain crop or species of plant are made up of the exact same DNA. This can be beneficial to farmers, since it means that their crops will all likely be ready to be harvested at about the same time, or it can be terrible for farmers, since a bacteria or other substance that is bad for one plant can instead kill an entire field of crops.
