I just finished this assignment. I believe the central idea was that Paul Revere proved himself to be brave by traveling all over Massachusetts (I think that's where it took place) warning every citizen of the incoming British army.

The idea trying to be told is bravery involves taking risks and doing things that others believe is too dangerous. I'd assume that running across the state in the middle of the night poses quite a few dangers considering the British army was going to war with them if I understood right. There could've been soldiers hidden out but Revere still rode to every citizen's house to warn them.
