Many young people today listen to music through the use of ear buds inserted into the ear canal. Some experts are concerned that the prolonged use of ear buds may cause this generation to experience high rates of hearing loss than their parents' generation. The more troubling fact about everything we know about hearing loss is that any damage to a persons' hearing is permanent. It is also true that people who experience hearing damage at a young age will experience further damage at a quick rate when they are older
