Chapter 11 Lord of the Flies Jack has guards why do you think he fights Ralph himself? Why not let someone else fight him?

    He fights Ralph himself because throughout the book they have constantly been at odds and fought for dominance, Jack feels he has to be the one to kill Ralph to end the anger he feels towards him and assure dominance over the other boys.
