Why are so many people willing to conform to organized religions, political groups, gangs?

Its because these types of people find comfort with these groups. These people are dealing with emotional, financial, or physical wounds. An example is gangs. Remember most of these gang members emerged from poor neighbors, and they had no real moral figures. The gang was an community where they didn't feel alone, despite the numerous crime activity associated with it. The main thing that ties all these groups together is a sense of companionship. Its something all members can find common ground.
