In 300 words or less, explain in what ways Oedipus gains more than he loses and why this is significant.

    By the end of his story arc, Oedipus has lost a great deal of things in his life, including his sense of sight due to self-inflicted blindness. Ironically, as he lost his sight he gained something that arguably has greater value: the truth. It is significant because while he physically loses his ability to see, he can (ironically) see the truth much more clearly.
