Is the following sentence capitalized correctly?

The nurse rang for the Doctor.

    The sentence isn't capitalized correctly. The first sign of that is that a nurse and doctor are both common nouns, but one is capitalized while the other isn't, and since they are the same part of speech, they should be in the same form. The second sign is that these are common nouns, not proper nouns. You do not capitalize common nouns, like "the man" or "the woman". If it was "Nurse Nancy" and "Doctor Dominick", then it would be capitalized, because those are proper nouns.
