    The Strait of Hormuz is the strategic waterway between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman that is used to transport as much as 25% of the worlds oil outside the Middle East Region. On the north coast of the strait is Iran and on the southern coast is the United Arab Emirates and Musandam.
