    There were several members of the middle class. Merchants were workers who may have produced and sold their own goods and were part of the middle class. Also Bakers, Shopkeepers and tradesmen were all members of the middle class. Being part of the middle class means that they made enough money to live and then some but weren't super rich and Monks, Squires, Clergy, Merchants, Tradesmen and Shopkeepers were all members of the middle class.
