What do you think of the concept of popular sovereignty? Should the will of the people be the deciding factor in our laws, or should our politicians make the laws?

In my onion our politicians should make our laws because there job is to do what they think is best for the united states and if the people wear to create our laws there would be a type of bias and laws would never be passed nor made in truly the best interest of the state and united states
