Format is the type of writing you choose for your text. It can be in the form of a poem, or prose, or drama, etc. depending on what you want to say and which format of literature suits your needs best. When it comes to Gulliver's Travels, it is a satirical novel written to mock human nature as well as popular 'traveler's tales' genre of literature.
