The correct answer should be A. he is excited at the prospect of becoming king but also fearful about what role he will have to play in making it happen.

In the beginning, he doesn't really care much about the fact that Banquo heard the prophecy - he was his best friend so he didn't mind it. However, once he found out that he will be king one day, he became happy, not understanding that he will have to kill the current king in order to become the next king.
