What is stress and why is it important that we use appropriate stress?

It is important that we have mainly good stress. the kind of stress that gets us motivated to do better.

Stress is the emphasis that is put on one syllable in a word. A word can only have only one main stressed syllable. The vowels carry the stress. If the first syllable carry the stress the word is a noun. If the last syllable carry the stress it is a verb. Example 'produce and pro'duce.
