There are 3 types of boundary plates: 1. divergent 2. convergent 3. transform plates. The divergent plate is a linear feature that exists between two tectonic plates that are moving away from each other. Convergent plates are plates which move toward one another and collide. Transform boundaries are places where plates slide sideways past each other. transform boundaries are mostly found on the sea floor. Himalayan mountain range and Tibetan plateau have formed as a result of the collision between the Indian Plate and Eurasian Plate which began 50 million years ago and continues today. Convergent plate boundary let to the creation of Himalayan Mountains.
