Which type of literary device does Shakespeare use through Polonius' advice to Laertes, "Neither a borrower nor a lender be; / For loan oft loses both itself and friend, / And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry?"

    The answer would be juxtaposition.

    Juxtaposition is the fact of two things being close together with a differentiating effect. In this case, it would be loaning and borrowing which are opposite things.
