The correct answer is C. they are treated evenly and in a very matter-of-fact manner.

There is no huge importance given to these concepts - but also, it's not as if they are completely irrelevant. They are important to an extent, which is why they are given some prominence, but not a lot of it. They are understandable, but just not of extreme importance.
