The novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding shows the outside world as ironic by portraying the paradoxical relationship of man with its own evil--intellect, civilization, technology and politics.

The life of the boys on the island displays human beings naturally create an organization and a system that it will eventually corrupt, leading to self destruction.
